MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Irene Reardon holds a Bachelor of Science (Applied Psychology)Minor in Education, and Certificate in TESOL, Certificate in the Teaching of Children with Dyslexia. Fifteen years experience in developing education programs and resources for Parents, Caregivers, Homeschoolers and Early Childhood and Primary Teachers. Fifteen years experience in internet marketing.   All resources are written and produced in conjunction with my co-developers Shirley Fuller and Heather Collins whose qualifications are: Shirley Fuller - Having completed her initial teacher training at Armidale Teachers College (NSW), to become a secondary mathematics and science teacher, Shirley Fuller has enjoyed a lifelong career in education. She is passionate about improving the learning outcomes of students from preschool to Year 12 and beyond. Her experience includes secondary mathematics, science and physical education teaching, primary teaching in all subjects, librarianship and resource centre coordination, tutoring students in mathematics at secondary level and in preparation for some university courses. During the latter half of her career she served as an education consultant: as a curriculum consultant, literacy consultant (during the implementation of the State Literacy Strategy in NSW) and Country Areas Program (CAP) Consultant working with teachers and students and their school communities in rural and isolated schools across NSW. The focus areas with CAP included quality improvement, quality teaching and learning and quality technology within teaching and learning. She believes strongly in providing professional development and support for teachers, parents and caregivers so they experience increasing competence and confidence in their provision of learning activities for the children in their care both in the classroom and the home and social environment. Shirley was named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June 2011 being awarded the Public Service Medal for extensive service to rural education for over 40 years. Since retiring from fulltime employment with NSW Department of Education she continues to support school communities through the provision of professional learning workshops for teachers, parents and community members and has embarked on a future as an author.
