I have several years teaching experience in upper elementary, teaching all subjects. I also spent two years as the Director of Education for one of the leading children's museums in the United States. During my time I the Director of Education, I developed innovative programming for pre-k through middle school.
I believe children learn best when the school, family, and community partner together to provide students with unique, hands-on experiences.
Recognized when my class received some of the highest social studies test scores in the state of Virginia. When serving as the Education Director for a museum, programs I wrote received the National Medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the highest honor a museum can receive. Other programs I wrote were recognized by the Association of Children's Museums and the U.S. Congress. Congress encouraged other museums to create similar programs to what I had put together.
