I currently teach 3rd grade, but have many years of experience as a 4th and 1st grade teacher as well. Other roles I currently hold or have held: Building Science Coordinator, Teacher Mentor, Building Leadership Team Member, and Language Arts Representative
Creating an inviting, safe classroom comes first. I make every attempt to get to know my students on a personal level as well as academic level so I know how to spark their interest. My teaching style could be described as the facilitator of research-based activities and lessons which make students think. I encourage my students to collaborate and problem solve. I am also a firm believer in teaching procedures (for everything!) in the beginning of the year and letting students relish their independence.
Master Teacher; Best Practices Teacher
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-8; Masters Degree in Education/School Counseling
I enjoy creating quality products for my students to use and then making these items available at reasonable prices for other teachers and their students.
