I have taught high school science (mainly Chemistry) for 5 years in Texas. Before that, I taught people how to do their jobs out in the work force for a variety of companies (also known as 'the trainer'). I love to learn and I love to see others learn, grow and reach their potential. I have finally found my home and look forward to teaching for many years to come.

I love the group dynamic and use lessons daily in which students work with a partner, a group of 4, or moving about the class from person to person to explore and learn new material as well as to practice, study and review. I also like to make the most of our lab time, so I have many inquiry style labs that I have written to push my students to think and problem solve and above all to look beyond the the mundane, step by step style labs and projects that are so common - let the creativity flow!!!

Its not really an award, but it is an honor to me that I was chosen to be a model classroom where other teachers in my school can come and watch different activities in action - I love to share!!!

I have attended 5 colleges / universities and have found I am a bit restless and enjoy learning new things. I graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a BS in Organizational Management, hold a composite science teacher certificate mostly through my coursework at UTPB, and have my ESL certification. With over 200 hours of college credit (and an unfinished Masters degree) I hate to say I am finally finished, cause you just never know...

Much of what I have been putting up was created in response to the new testing in Texas - STAAR - which has since been eliminated as a tested course at the state level. However, the information and materials are still viable for the subject. We were in dire shortage of manufactured materials and I have spent many hours pouring over the information I could get my hands on to compile the most complete vocabulary list I could get and have used it to produce many useful materials for this first year and beyond. My fellow 'staph' members love them and I hope they will be useful to many of you as well...
