I've taught second grade in a private Christian school, Chapter One Reading in a large urban school, and ESL Gifted and Talented in both urban and suburban schools. I've also homeschooled from K-12, tutored both privately and for a learning center, and taught Amnesty classes, Sunday School classes, and various homeschool group classes. Currently I'm the Children's Supervisor for a Bible Study Fellowship group as well. Quite an eclectic background!
Because I'm a strong visual learner, I have to be intentional about incorporating activities and methods that cater to my students who are NOT visual learners. I would describe my teaching style as organized and structured, but fun and relational as well. It's important to me to build a positive classroom climate.
Yet to be added
I graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a BS in Elementary Education and got my ESL and Gifted and Talented Certification through classes from Baylor and UT.
I share my home with my husband of 32 years and my teenage daughter--unfortunately no pets at this time. I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with friends, and solving puzzles of all kinds. As I come to the end of my homeschooling journey, I'm looking forward to seeing what God has for me next.
