I believe in challenging students to reach way beyond what they think they can achieve. Standards should be kept high while the individual needs of each student are always incorporated. A sense of humor is an essential part of my style. I am friendly and accessible, but maintain the distinct teacher-student relationship. To gain respect, a teacher must earn respect from her students by also respecting them as individuals. Each student's creativity must be discovered in order to address his/her individual learning style. Finally, students should look forward to coming to my class to learn even if the subject matter is difficult for them.
