TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been lucky to be able to teach grades Pre-K through 8th grade in many parts of Maine. One year I taught on a remote Maine island in a one room schoolhouse where I had one student in every grade! That was an experience! I spent 5 years as a developmental therapist for CDS in early education. My family and I have finally settled in Downeast Maine where I teach on the Passamaquoddy reservation on Pleasant Point.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I want my students to become engaged, critical thinkers with the ability to express themselves creatively. I give them freedom in the classroom to make their own choices, do activities that promote collaboration and set up experiences that will foster their individual interests. I advocate for early services. I've seen the results of early intervention on my student's lives as well as their parent's lives.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am passionate about teaching, but when I have free time I love to photograph this beautiful part of Maine with my son, who is also a photographer. I love spending time with my children kayaking, hiking, camping and riding around the trails in our side by side. I also love to garden and work on our new home, which is a never-ending project!
