I'm in my 6th year of teaching Kinder, and loving it!
My class is high-energy, relies on songs and chants for learning, behavior, and transitions. I believe that each student can learn, although not at the same pace, time, or in the same way. Trying to find the key that unlocks this miracle within each student is exhausting, exhilarating, and is what keeps me doing what I do every day.
My kiddos tell me I'm the best teacher ever. That's all the reward I need.
I received my Undergraduate degree in Journalism from Campbell University in NC in 2006, and my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Lipscomb University in 2009. After graduation, I spent 4 months teaching Kindergarten in Haiti, before returning to Nashville, TN where I spent 3 years teaching at an amazing school just outside of the city. I recently made the move to Indianapolis, IN where I currently teach Kindergarten at an inner-city public school.
I'm getting married to my best friend and love of my life June 2016 and CAN NOT WAIT! I love traveling, teaching, kinders, photography, cooking and baking, hiking and the outdoors, the beach, writing, creating, and loving to the best of my ability.
