I've enjoyed teaching all grade levels of science including 7th and 8th grade science, high school biology, integrated chemistry and physics, earth and space science, and AP Biology. I briefly taught an adult-level computer course at Indiana University for Education Majors.
My teaching style is geared toward student inquiry and student engagement through fun and exciting hands-on activities. I often combine art with science to bring student projects to life. Surprising demonstrations and discrepant events are often used in my classroom to draw students in to the lesson ahead! I firmly believe in stream-lined and easy to use resources and materials.
I serve as a Mentor Teacher at the high school where I teach Biology and Integrated Chemistry and Physics. Fellow teachers once voted me as "Most Likely to Star on Jeopardy!" One of my previous students gave me a card that read "You have changed how I look at life." This was the best honor a teacher could ever receive!
I've earned an Associate in Science Degree, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology Education / Secondary Education, and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education.
