TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a new(ish) teacher from the Central Connecticut area. I started out my career as a student teacher in 4th grade, then a tutor for Grades K-5, became a Long Term Substitute in Kindergarten and have since been a 2nd grade teacher. Teaching is the best job in the world- don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Being relatively new to teaching, I am still trying out many strategies and seeing what fits best for me and my class. I love doing rotations for instructional time as it keeps the students more engaged and focused on their work versus sitting for an hour to complete one task. I am a firm believer in logical consequences when it comes to classroom management, as well as having a growth mindset!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

None at this time :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and am currently in a Master's program for Special Education with a Cross-Endorsement.

In addition to teaching, I also love to hike, craft, and take care of my dog, Toffi, who is the mascot of my classroom. :)
