For the last six years, I have worked on many curriculum and assessment committees. I have unwrapped Nevada standards and the Common Core State Standards and have written passages and assessments targeting these standards in math and ELA. Clark County School District is the fifth largest district in the nation, and my work has been used by elementary teachers across the district for the last six years. My goal is to make the CCSS easier for teachers to teach and easier for students to master at each grade level.
My teaching style is hard to describe, because it changes depending on the needs of the students. I teach standards in isolation and in conjunction with others to ensure that the children have truly mastered them and can use them in real situations.
I was a Star Teacher for my school's performance zone during the 2011-2012 school year. CCSD is broken into performance zones, and my school's zone had 27 schools. I also received an award for excellence in autism consulting during the 2012-2013 school year.

I believe teaching is a calling, and I do it with my whole heart each day.
