I have had the pleasure of being a teacher for the past thirteen years. I have taught in two different parishes in Louisiana. I have taught 2nd grade, students with Autism, and my current position within a full inclusion setting.
I am a full believer that all students, regardless of disability, should have access to the regular education classroom. My collegue (who is a regular educator) and I co-teach a full inclusion classroom with a group of 22 students, 8 of which are special education students with mild/moderate disabilities.
My co-worker and I have had the top three scores in our school for two years running. Our students have made notable gains by differentiating instruction within that full inclusion setting.
I have a bachelors degree in General Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University, and certification in regular (elementary) and special education (1-12) from the University of New Orleans.
I am a happily married, mother of two beautiful daughters. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a young girl. I am glad to be a part of education, and I hope that I can touch and inspire my students to reach for the stars.
