I have Homeschooled all three of my children at some point. My oldest is autistic, and she is now enrolled in college looking to major in math. My youngest has struggled in the public school system, and now he is doing so much better, not having to deal with constant distractions. This is my 7th year, and I am loving it!
I believe in teaching to my child's individual strengths. If something isn't working, we move on. I try to figure out new ways that will help my child understand the material. We change our venue at times so that we're not at home all of the time. We get more done at Starbucks than we do at home sometimes. Go figure!
I am a former scholar athlete winning awards for maintaining over a 3.8 while playing sports all 4 years in high school.
I have recently returned to school to get my bachelors degree. I haven't been to school in over 20 years, yet I still love learning new things.
I coach middle school and high school basketball as well as a high school and college volleyball official. I love sports, and I love teaching middle school and high school kids how to play. Teaching is just my thing. It doesn't matter if it's in the classroom or on the basketball court.
