I am a 11-year SLP who has worked in an elementary school as well as private clinic and hospital settings. I graduated from Valdosta State University with my B.S. and M.Ed in Communication Disorders. I am ASHA licensed and certified. I work with children with an array of disabilities and strive to keep therapy functional AND fun!
I believe in making learning fun. I have a great, fun-loving relationship with my students and take a personal interest in their school work and home lives. Discipline is a big part of my classroom, but I rarely ever have to "use my teacher voice!" We learn classroom expectations and how to respect each other from day one, and my kids rarely require "reminders!" Usually, a look will do. :)
2010 Valdosta State University Top Graduate Student Teacher Award. Blog (Let's Talk with Whitneyslp) was named in Kidmunicate's Top 75 Speech Pathology Blogs for 2015

I love family, kids, reading, and the beach. I grew up on a cattle farm in South GA. My husband and I were high school sweethearts. We have two miniature schnauzers, two human babies, Halle Jane (7), and Easton (3), a therapy-dog-in-training, Lucy, and a new kitten, Charlie!
