My career began in 1996, teaching first grade for 15.5 years in the St. Charles Parish public school system in Louisiana. In December of 2012, I transferred to Jefferson parish where I was an ELA intervention teacher for K and 1st grade ESL students. I also served as a teacher leader and Instructional Coach. Presently I teach third grade ELA, am a member of the Instructional Leadership Team, am the Lead ELA teacher, and am the mentor teacher in charge of Professional Learning Communities in grades 3-5.
I LOVE technology! If I'm not teaching small groups, I instruct most of my day on the Promethean Board. The majority of my TPT store will include interactive flipcharts for Promethean Boards, Avatar videos, and PowerPoints. I hope you enjoy my work and that it impacts student learning!
I became a Nationally Board Certified Educator in the area of Early Childhood Generalist in 2006. I successfully renewed my National Board Certification in 2016! I have been recognized as Teacher of the Year at the school and district levels twice in St. Charles Parish. In 2008, I was selected Regional Teacher of the Year and was one of eight Louisiana state finalists. In 2011, I was chosen as the Regional LACUE Teacher of the Year for technology. In 2015, I was selected Teacher of the Year at my current school. I am truly honored to have been recognized for my hard work and dedication to the profession so many times!

In my free time, I love working out and teaching group fitness classes. I also enjoy working in my garden. My husband and I are "foodies" and enjoy dining out all around New Orleans, trying new restaurants and seeing what different chefs have to offer!
