I am finishing my 10th year of teaching special education. I have taught students in 6th grade-21 years old. I have a cross categorical special education license, so I have experience with many different disabilities (OHI, LD, EBD, IDS, Autism).
I believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn. I also believe that students need to learn what will help them succeed in life. Most of my activities are geared towards helping students learn basic skills, gain greater independence, and to be able to function in the real world.
I have been nominated for the Kohl Teacher Fellowship.
I have a BS in Biology and a minor in Environmental Education, I earned my teaching license through UW-Oshkosh and CESA 6. The ten years that I spent as a substitute teacher (before I got my own classroom) helped me to connect with many different students and staff.
I live in a small town in Wisconsin with my husband, dog, and many chickens. I enjoy working with all students to help them reach their full potential.
