TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a public school teacher for 23 years, specializing in middle grades science, social studies and language arts instruction. I am also an author and a professional development provider with expertise in all things #edtech and #atplc.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am constantly working to develop materials and lessons that give students chances to wrestle with essential skills like collaboration, critical thinking, persuasion, visual influence and complex problem solving. My classroom is a place driven by good questions, not the right answers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as a Middle Childhood Generalist since 1997. I have also been the Teacher of the Year in my county and a Regional Teacher of the Year in my state.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My goal each morning is to be a better teacher than I was yesterday!
