TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a high school English/Language Arts teacher in North Jersey (Essex County) for the past 10 years teaching the following classes (and grade levels): - Ninth grade honors English - Ninth grade college prep English - Creative Writing and the Study of Literature (11th & 12th grade) - Poetry (12th grade) - AP English Language and Composition (11th grade) - PARCC preparatory course (9th-11th grade)

MY TEACHING STYLE

Though organized in nature, I often encourage a class of organic discussions and discoveries. Most units are created using the backwards by design model and almost everything includes some level of nonfiction synthesis.
