I am an veteran teacher with 23 years teaching experience. My husband was in the military so I have a vast array of experience teaching in elementary, middle school, and high school. Positions I have held include special education teacher in resource rooms, inclusion teacher, and self-contained.I have taught in New York, Overseas for the Department of Defense Schools, New Mexico, and Georgia. I have taught it all! Currently, I am a 5th grade lead teacher actively involved in the Teach American History Grant or TAH. This is an exciting program that really inspires me to get my students thinking.
My style is organized with a focus on cooperative learning. In truth, my favorite strategy is think pair share tasks where students really grow! I must also admit that my best friend in the classroom is a timer. Too much to do in too little time! If I had to identify my style I would say I am very "Harry Wong" and really try to set my students up for success as well as I like to see them think!
