My name is Ashely, and I'm from New York City! I went to school for Business Administration with a focus in Human Resource and Marketing. When I finished school, I found myself getting my 120-hr TEFL certification and heading to Bali. There I volunteered at a school in a local village as a third grade ESL teacher. My students were between the ages of 8-10. When I returned to NYC, I began working at a non-profit that helps women and children as a Human Resources Coordinator. I got to travel to Peru and Kenya and see the programs that help children firsthand! Upon returning from Peru, I realized that I love teaching and wanted to pursue ESL teaching. I decided to move to Santiago, Chile. There, I taught young adults between the ages of 18-25. The curriculum focused on preparing students for different real-life situations in which they will use English, focusing on grammar and pronunciation. During my time there, I received 30-Hour Teaching Learners with Special Educational Needs, certified by Oxford Teachers Academy (OTA). Currently, I am an Online ESL Teacher for children 6-12 years old.
