I have tried many ways to organize work for my students when they are absent and for my 6th grade students this is my favorite. I found a place (mine is on the side of a bookcase) to attach file folders labeled with these signs and cute duct tape.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have spent 23 wonderful years doing what I love from Kindergarten to 8th grade Math! I have spent time in the elementary classroom as a self-contained 3rd grade teacher, in the junior high level as a math teacher, and even several years in the gym as a Physical Education teacher. I am currently in my 5th year as a 6th grade math teacher and am really loving it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style focuses on building relationships with my students in order to get the most from them. My classroom is a 100 minute setting so we transition through many activities during that time to keep the interest up and their learning on the move. I utilize an IMJ (Interactive Math Journal), group work, partner work, station work, and independent activities to facilitate student learning.
