TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching 5th Grade Reading in 2011. In 2015, I added 5th Grade Social Studies to my classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strongly believe in integrating subject areas as often as possible. It's nearly impossible to cover everything in the time we're given. Integrating subjects is the only way I am able to cover everything in my own classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2005-Jerry D. Hughes Achievement Award 2010, 2011-UGA Dean's List

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

In 2009, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. While at UGA, I participated in the Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching and completed my student teaching at a primary school in Australia. In 2013, I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. While working on my Master's Degree, I also completed the courses needed to obtain my Gifted Endorsement.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married to a wonderful, but slightly absentminded chemist. We have two dogs, a cat, and an amazing one year old named Wren.
