I have worked in special education in Early Childhood as well as K-5 with a number of different disabilities. I have also worked as a reading interventionist in K-5. After completing my Masters in Teaching, I am now certified in Elementary Education and in Secondary English and Language Arts and am teaching middle school reading and writing. I am also a Fellow for the Middle Tennessee Writing Project, a chapter of the National Writing Project. https://writeteachlaugh.wordpress.com/
I was taught in an immersion Gifted and talented program from K-12th. This gave me a unique perspective on teaching, learning, and the importance of learning to problem solve. I went on to attend Centenary College of Louisiana as an English and History double major. Then, I moved on to LSU in Mass Communications. I left LSU to start a family and finished my degree as a non-traditional adult student at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. I have completed my Masters in Teaching and am now certified to teach elementary as well as secondary ELA. Additionally, I am a Fellow for the Middle Tennessee Writing Project.
Additionally, I am a writer having written a historical fiction chapter book for young readers, a second book about laughing and learning with my daughter who has Sensory Processing Disorder, and a third historical fiction novel for adults is currently in the works. I have 3 kids of my own and am a hockey and soccer mom. Busy, busy, busy!
