TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been a Mathematics teacher and tutor in Western Australia since 1988. Since 2006 I have split my work time between my school teaching commitments and running a small business. The small business deals with tutoring students and creating resources for schools. These resources include worksheets, lesson plans, examinations, games and activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to create a positive environment in the classroom where Maths is challenging and rewarding. Not everyone enjoys this subject. So I do attempt to balance tasks with puzzles and competition. I hope this is reflected in some of my worksheets, as students strive to complete questions to solve a riddle, or compete a challenge.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am Level Two Senior Classroom Teacher

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to Swan View Primary School, Swan View High School and Governor Stirling Senior High School. I studied at the University of WA, completing a Bachelor of Science (Maths Major) and then a Diploma in Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy the outdoors and I am also involved in sport. I played cricket for a number of years and have been involved in umpiring Australian Football since 1985. I have been a coach in both of these disciplines since 1998.
