TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started teaching back in 2006 and my first students are now in their 30's! The majority of my experience is at the high school level (it's my favorite), but I have taught kindergarten through 12th grade. I've lost track of the number of different classes I've taught - everything from a weekly computer class for the little ones to Money Management at the middle school level to Accounting, Digital Photo, Entrepreneurship, Advertising and Digital Media, Video and Sound, (and more!) at the high school level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love planning and coming up with innovative ways to reach diverse learners! However, I have learned that without a doubt, regardless of how well-planned a lesson is, it's all about the people in the room! I really care about my kids and truly enjoy getting to know them through things like "Thankful Thursday" bell work.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Recognized as one of our county's "Amazing Teachers" in October, 2018 and as a "Superb Staff Member" at our school in January 2019. A "shining teacher moment" was being included on a student's "Thankful Thursday" list. I mean it was week 10 of the semester and I had been her teacher for multiple classes over the previous 6 years, but still! :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing and a Master of Education with a focus in Business and Marketing Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I believe in making an effort to make improvements. This lead me to service on both my district's Building Leadership and District Leadership Teams. It also inspired me to co-found the Sunshine Committee and Spirit Squad to improve school culture.
