I have used these when working in Year 1 for morning tasks when children arrive into the school, as well as for carousel activities. I simply laminated the border, cut it out and stuck it onto a folded piece of card that could stand up on a table. I left a simple message about the task to complete so that children knew what they were required to do on each table. The border made the messages stand out. This worked especially well considering that the class I worked in was called 'Ladybird' class

This is a zoo planning project. To start, students use their knowledge of place value to come up with prices for different things at the zoo; parking, admission, food court, and more. The page gives them directions of what place value to use. For example, there must be a 2 in the tens place. They can decide the ones place. After making many decisions on how much things cost, students then decide signs to show the visitors how much everything costs. From there, students answer 6 rigorous question
