I use this in my classroom after I introduce tens and ones to help students practice thinking like a mathematician. Students must count the objects in groups of tens and ones and then record. It seems like an easy task but it often brings out many misunderstandings. This is an editable document so that you will be able to change to fit your items you count.

Integrating learning throughout the day is one more way for students to build their skills and grow as learners. Each morning the students sign in and make a lunch choice using this form. Print it on cardstock and laminate or stick in a page protector sleeve. Students mark their lunch choice using a dry erase marker.
