On this AR Reading Log there is a place for them to write the Book Title and Author's Last Name. They are to check off when they have read it 2x's and when they took a test. After they take an AR quiz, they then fill out how many points they earned, their percent, and have their parents inital their reading log.

This letter is meant to go home multiple times a trimester to update parents on their students' progress through Accelerated Reader. Both the parents and students sign the bottom to indicate they are aware of the progress. Included in each letter is the student's STAR reading range, the percent towards their personal goal, the percent of how far through the trimester it is, average percent correct on quizzes, and average reading level. There are a total of 13 chapters in this book. I choose to split the read aloud into 2 weeks. Chapters 1-6 were read in week 1. Chapters 7-13 were read in week 2. At the end of each week students were given a vocabulary quiz on the chapters that were read and discussed. We practiced the vocabulary words throughout the week. This document is the vocabulary quiz for week 1. The vocabulary quiz for week 2 will be uploaded as well. Enjoy!

This is a form designed to encourage students to mindfully reflect on their test/quiz scores. I give these to my students printed on a colored paper before they recover their test/quiz grade. It allows them to reflect and then I can use it as the cover page for their test/recovery test when scores go home! I use these for extra motivation for AR quizzes. Every time students get an 100% on a quiz, I hole punch an apple. When they fill up the card, I give them a small book and a restaurant coupon. I have found that students get really excited when they get a new hole punch, and are counting how many more they need in order to fill up the card. I really hope these are successful in your classroom. The file includes the cards in English and Spanish. The format is the same except for "name vs. nombre."
