Color Coded Multiplication Chart
Multiplication chart emphasized with colors for the zeroes, tens and doubles. I can never remember where to find the multiplication chart when I need one, so I made one to print out and laminate for each of my students. Does anyone else have this challenge?

Take the MAPS Challenge! A goal setting worksheet
Many of us are using the NWEA MAPS assessment to monitor our students' progress in both reading and math. This is a worksheet that I created that enables students to take ownership over their MAPS scores, and encourage them to make growth. Using this worksheet, students set goals for themselves to achieve throughout the year in both reading and math. Additionally, students can monitor their growth throughout the year to see if they have achieved their goal.

Participation Challenge
I use this in my 7th grade ELA class to challenge students to participate. This encourages them to be repsectful to other students talking, raising their hands and not shouting out the answers, and to particpate more in the classroom. When they do the following, they will earn a sticker. At the end of the week, if they have all 5 stickers they will choose from the prize box.

Free HW/Drop Lowest Grade Passes
Teaching middle school is certainly challenging. It's difficult to motivate those students that just aren't motivated by their own grades.
Our school year is divided into six 6 weeks periods. At the end of those periods, I hold a classroom raffle to raffle off bags of chips, candy, Free HW Passes and Drop the Lowest Daily Grade passes. The kids turn them in to me whenever they need a free pass.
I issue my students "raffle tickets" throughout the 6 weeks when they turn in HW on time, get an A

Third Grade CORE Standards Checklist
I created a CORE standards checklist for 3rd grade. It's very overwhelming and challenging to try to track and prove that you have covered all standards--let alone the new ones, so this will be a great tool for you to use! The Science and Social Studies standards are for Ohio. If you live outside of Ohio, you can just delete those parts, but the CORE is consistent in all states! Enjoy!
