In this lab, students will create a battery that can power an LED light using electrolyte liquids such as lemon juice, vinegar, or gatorade. Students will: make the battery, take data on how much voltage is created as they increase the amount of liquid used, determine the dependent and independent variables in this experiment, plot their data points on a graph, create a line of best fit, determine the equation of the line of best fit, and conclude what the slope of that line means conceptually.
