Have students analyse design practices and rate their sustainability. S tier rating systems require very little explanation due to their prevalence in popular culture, so students can focus on the design decisions themselves. Some tricky ones included for the challenge. Resource includes prompts which hold value in all pillars of sustainable design - social, ecological, economical. All in all a good revision/formative assessment activity.

This activity was designed with 8th-grade Middle School students in mind as a way to activate and increase their background knowledge on the topic of Animatronics, as well as their scientific vocabulary in this field. It can easily be adapted to a 6th-grade group by reducing its length and complexity by half (ie. include only two parts, A and B, instead of three; cut down the number of blanks to 10-11, instead of 22).
