Students create a calendar based on their birthday month. Within the calendar, they must write the month, days of the week and numbers in the target language. This project can be completed in any language (though my students completed it in Spanish). This is a great alternative assessment instead of the usual pen and paper quizzes.

This PowerPoint presentation introduces the questions “Qui est” and “Comment est” and shows students how to appropriately ask them and answer them using well-known figures. The presentations reinforces descriptive adjectives (grand, petit, fort, etc.) and has lesson suggestions in the comments of each slide. The presentation also recommends a final project the students can complete to assess understanding.
