Parent Functions Transformations Cut and Paste

Directions: Cut out each section and match the equation with the correct graph. Then state how the graph changed from the original parent function. Paste together when done. You can give students calculators or you can have them go completely on what they have learned over transformations. I put my students in groups of 2 for this. Has the Quadratic, Radical, and Rational parent functions.

Athena Leonardo
This lesson plan and handout on rational exponents was created by me, Athena Leonardo, for an 11th/12th grade pre-calculus class, but is suitable for advanced algebra students as well. This 2-day lesson is inquiry-based and guides students to generalizing a procedure for simplifying an expression involving rational exponents. The only materials necessary to implement this lesson are these documents and a graphing calculator. The activity can be completed by individual students or small groups

Ambiguous Case Law of Sin Truth and Lies

This truth and lies worksheet covers the law of sin ambiguous case. Students will have to decide if each triangle listed creates 0, 1, or 2 triangles. Students are to circle the statements that are true. When they have completed the worksheet, they check with the teacher. The teacher just checks the boxes that have all the correct triangles circled. Then students need to correct any boxes not checked. This forces them to check their work and not just change their answers.
