I use this PowerPoint to teach students how to write a testable hypothesis, emphasis is on using the words If and Then and to make a hypothesis that can be tested with an experiment. I use this with my ESOL students who struggle with English. This document is editable. I also have a scaffolding for notes that I use with my ESOL students or slower writers that is available in the store. I use this when I teach about the scientific method or when doing the science fair.
