Multiplying Polynomials

A great and simple checkpoint to assess where students are regarding multiplying binomials. Problems begin with multiplying positive numbers only, and then including negative numbers, and then multiplying three binomials together. I teach my students to use Distributive Property or Area Model to solve problems. I emphasize Area Model, as it keeps their work organized and keeps the like terms at an angle. This activity requires a background of combining like terms, and leads into multiplying al

Polynomials Operations

This is a quiz (or review worksheet if your prefer) over the operations of polynomials. It covers 4 sections: 1) Classify Polynomials by degree and term 2) Adding Polynomials 3) Subtracting Polynomials 4) Multiplying Polynomials. The problems are heavily weighted on the multiplication because of the connection to factoring and solving in the solving quadratics unit.

Solving Equations: Leveled Worksheet

This worksheet provides practice and review of solving linear equations. The problems increase in difficulty, from one-step equations to multi-step equations. Problems include absolute value, the distributive property, and equations with the variable on both sides. After each level of problem, students must check in with the teacher to verify that they are finding the correct solutions.

I use this fun review activity before tests or quizzes or after I finish a unit. Students are told to form a team of 6 people. These 6 people then sit in a row so that they each are sitting behind one of their own team members. The first person is given the sheet and completes the problem named "Question #1". After they answer it, they pass it back to person 2 and they answer "Question #2" and so on. This continues until the last person answer the last question. Then they pass the paper back up

If you like this activity, please take the time to rate it and leave a comment. THANKS! Students will vote thumbs up or thumbs down on a variety of graphs or equations that ask them to determine if it is a function, if the inverse is a function, or if the inverse that is graphed is a function. Great formative assessment that helps clarify when to use the horizontal line test or the vertical line test.
