Parallel & Transversal Lines with Perpendicular Distance City Design Project

This project incorporates: The vocabulary learned in parallel lines cut by a transversalGraphing the equations of linesConverting equations of lines into standard, point slope, and slope intercept formCalculating perpendicular distance from a point. There is the rubric (in 3 digital formats) with the perpendicular distance component added and the rubric (in 3 digital formats) without this concept. Multiple formats allow for editing and flexible sharing options. Examples of student work are inclu

Discover linear equations the fun way. This is a 5 day project that is ready to use. Implementing it in your class will be as easy as pi. Students will need access to a computer or iPad. They will use a powerful online graphing calculator to create a drawing of the Eiffel tower via www.desmos.com. Students will learn about: Writing linear equations in point-slope form Writing linear equations in slope-intercept form Writing equations of parallel lines Graphing horizontal and vertical lines

Linear Algebra Art Project

This is a fun interactive activity for Algebra 2 students which can be used as a task driven assessment, project or in class activity. This project promotes creativity and critical thinking. The objective of this unit assessment/project is for students to write equations in slope intercept form, graph those equations and determine if two lines are parallel, perpendicular or neither both algebraically and graphically. This assessment requires students to think critically about the significance

Simplifying Polynomials PPT Lesson, Students Guided Note Sheet and Google Form

This Simplifying Polynomials Bundle is a comprehensive educational resource that includes a scaffolded PowerPoint lesson, a student-guided note sheet, and a Google Form to check student understanding. The PowerPoint lesson is designed to be projected onto a board and discussed with students as they take notes using the accompanying guided note sheet. Teachers can use the DRAW feature on PPT along with a stylus pen to record the answers to the problems throughout the class discussion. The not

Disneyland Itinerary

This activity has the students graph the itinerary of two teacher's trip to Disneyland on a four coordinate grid. They have to find the equation of a line using slope and a coordinate as well as understand what parallel and perpendicular lines mean. This activity is very engaging! It took two days to have the students complete it but it was well worth it! The activity is based off one of my coworkers and me, you can edit this very easily!
