Parallel and Perpendicular Lines Project
When teaching anything, students have a tendency to shine in other ways than that of the traditional pen and paper test. This project was used in place of a traditional pen and paper test. My students created a bird house for their chapter project that covered parallel and perpendicular lines and planes. Parallel Lines and Angle Relationships City Design Project
I have used this project to help students learn about parallel lines and angle relationships formed by parallel lines cut by a transversal. You can use it as an internet activity with dragging icons and lines onto the page on page #5 or a paper copy activity on page 4 and page 6. It's really fun and interactive for all students. Geometry Project - Geometry Town
Students will create a town map made of different geometric figures. They will demonstrate their knowledge of parallel and perpendicular lines, acute and obtuse angles, geometric shapes as well as many other geometric concepts through this creative and fun project.
This project can be adapted to higher level geometry courses and high school classes. You can add parameters to the geometric shaped buildings (ex. must label the dimensions of the building given a certain area or perimeter).

Geogebra TM Exploration of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
This exercise guides students through an exploration of theorems involving parallel, perpendicular and transversal lines. The step-wise approach also allows students to become familiar with the functions available on Geogebra TM, an open domain software and fee app. Students will record findings on handout and also produce a hard copies of Geogebra TM sketches.
