Imaginary Numbers Test

This multiple-choice and short response test covers complex and imaginary numbers, operations on complex numbers, and using synthetic division and factorization of polynomials with complex solutions to support the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra. Can be easily edited or copy-pasted for your own tests and quizzes, or could serve as a study guide for your imaginary numbers unit.

This is in powerpoint format. Slide 1 is teacher notes. Slides 2 through 5 are what I use to teach proof strategies. slides 6-19 are handouts for students to complete - 1 proof per slide. I have students complete 3 per quarter. The first 2 are easy and then the proofs increase in difficulty. I use this in pre-calculus but it could also apply to a strong algebra 2 class or an ap calculus class. slide 20 shows an innovative way I have used to teach proof in the past with solutions on slide 21.

The unit on functions is one of the most challenging for math students to master. Finding domain and range of functions, determining inverses and real roots and using function notation are all included in this package. Working with Functions I is designed to be used as an introduction of functions for Algebra I and as a strong review for Algebra II and Advanced Math classes. The included material includes study pages with keys for each level, two quizzes and five student help pages for cla

Included in this zip folder are 10 Power Point files. 4 files assist in the introduction of the Law of Sines and 6 are assignments. A brief description of each: Intro #1 is the "story of SSA". The sequence of SSA is investigated revealing that 2 triangles can exist with given information in this sequence. It is 11 slides in length. Intro #2 is a 21 slide file. The emphasis is the domain of x if it is an angle in a triangle. sine and cosine equations are solved as formative assessment questions

Maxima and Minima from Graphs Worksheet | Identifying Relative Extrema

This Maxima and Minima worksheet helps students practice identifying the maximum and minimum points of functions from graphs. Students analyze each graph and determine the coordinate points where the function reaches a maximum or minimum value. The worksheet includes bilingual directions in English and Spanish, making it accessible for multilingual classrooms and Spanish-speaking learners. Students will practice: Identifying relative maxima and minima Reading coordinate points from graphs I

Properties of Logarithms Guided Discovery Math Investigation Activity (EDITABLE)

The properties of logarithms can be very challenging and confusing for students, but they don't have to be! Instead of memorizing formulas and rules, students use this guided discovery investigation to actively explore patterns and connections between exponents and logarithms to build a strong conceptual understanding. In this activity, students will:Review the rules of exponentials and logarithms and see how they connect.Practice rewriting and understanding how to write logarithms in exponentia
