Side one contains the multiplication facts in order from 0 to 12. This allows students to memorize the patterns in each of the sets. Side two contains the inverse operation of these same multiplication facts, division. These division facts are NOT listed in order. This encourages the student to practice his or her math skills from memory. This worksheet can be used as daily practice, homework, as a quiz, or final assessment. It can be used as a timed assessment. 5 minutes is recommended.

Finding Percent of a Number, Real World Math

Students get to take turns being the waiter/waitress and customer at a restaurant. The customers will order from the menu but must not go over a budget of $25.00. When they receive their check, the customers must figure out what %15 of their subtotal is in order to tip their server. The waiter/waitress' job is to take the customers order and add up the prices to provide them with their subtotal. They could also add the tax, but I did not include that in my activity.

Use 100 grids and Persent strips to help your students model with percents. This tool is recommended for use with middle school math classes. I cut them into half sheets and copy them front and back then laminate them. This way students can use expo markers to model percents during practice and group work. Paper copies can be made for a copy in the students' math notebooks.
