Hello! This is a four question, plus a bonus, quiz on half sheets in Microsoft Word. It has an answer key. This is designed for a quick "flashback" after watching the video and should take less than 10 minutes to take and go over the answers. I use these in my classroom after every Bill Nye The Science Guy DVD that we watch. I grade it by making each question worth 25 points and the bonus (which never counts against you) worth 10. These are great to leave with a substitute!

This test covers the Indiana State Standards for 7th grade science about Newton's Laws, calculating work & power, and forces. Many questions are multiple choice/matching, but there are also calculation questions and a short-answer question. As with any quiz on Google Forms, be sure to check your quiz settings before sending to your students. For example, at the end of this test, I allow my students to see which questions they missed, but not the right answers because I do not want them to

Impulse and Momentum: Dare to Jump with Locked Knees?: an Essential Demo

This demo demonstrates impulse nd momentum (aka, Newton's third law): 1) force is decreased by causing same momentum change over longer time and 2) changing the same amount of momentum more quickly requires more force The demo requires a lab bench or other sturdy surface. This demo is part of the resources "Momentum Lecture Notes- AP-C Physics" and "Momentum: Intro Activities and Questions" which include much more than just this demo. This is one of the 14 demos (and 1 lab) that I consider

The name of this activity is The Periodic Table: Increasing Atomic Mass Exceptions. It was created for chemistry and physical science high school students. The elements in the periodic table created by Mendeleev in 1869 were organized in ascending order according to their atomic masses. Mendeleev, however, encountered a few problems. For instance, the element Tellurium (Te) had to swap places with the element Iodine (I), because the elements located in the same column were supposed to have simi

During the 2018-2019 school year I tried Kathy Nunley's Layered Curriculum for my general physics class. The Layered Curriculum allows for differentiated learning, students choose from a buffet of activities that assess their learning. There are three layers, C, B, and A layers that corresponds to Bloom's taxonomy as well as the grade they get for that Unit. I averaged their layered grade with their quiz grade (50-50 split). The C layer consists of activities that help them to gain understanding
