Science 10/Physics 20 "Speed Dating" Row Game

Row games are great for student pairs. This can either be done in the classroom or on Google Meet or Zoom breakout rooms. There are two columns, one to be completed by student "A" and the other by student "B." As a game, students can race one another if they choose. Each column has different questions, but the answers in the rows are the same. For this formative assessment learning activity, students compare their answers. If they got the same number, they did it right! If they get different num

This design challenge is useful for understanding momentum concepts. Specifically how a bumper reduces the impulse during a collision. A force meter is required for the determination of the force reduction during the collision. Be sure increase the sampling rate for the force sensor so that the sensor can "see" the collision. Along with the sensor some type of cart and a ramp are necessary. I use the PASCO carts and ramps.
