Dividing Fractions WITHOUT “Keep, Change, Flip” As a student I never understood why we “keep, change, and flip” when we were dividing fractions. It didn’t make sense to me. As a teacher, it never made sense either. Also, sometimes the answer never made sense either….. until I learned this method of dividing fractions with common denominators. In my opinion, we have been teaching division of fractions incorrectly. After you teach addition and subtraction of fractions, then go right into teaching
