Dividing Fractions - Review of Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers

Created by
Kiley Hoefer

I used the context of making the keys of a marimba (xylophone-like instrument) to allow students to work through these problems. The lesson includes links to videos of children playing marimbas, a warm-up, the lesson, and an exit ticket question. This can also be used as a formative assessment to help determine students' abilities with these topics.

From understanding place value and reading of numbers to understanding place value and the concepts of powers of ten. These slides were actually used as a formative assessment to identify where students were at, on the place value spectrum. Now place value progresses from grade to grade. As a formative assessment, I knew where the students were at, at middle school math students. It was always my philo
