Author's Purpose QR Code Activity
This activity targets the common core skill of identifying author's purpose. Included are three posters, a pre-test/post-test, 15 QR codes that link to a variety of videos, and a recording sheet. The videos range from 1-3 minutes in duration, and students may work independently or in groups. My students loved applying what they had learned to the videos and grasped the concept with this activity!

Emoji Social Scenarios
The students in my room LOVE to text, so I tried to play on their interest by using emoji clipart. This activity includes 24 scenario cards, each depicting a different emotion. It is differentiated so that you may maximize its use with your students. Pages 3-7 include cards with a social scenario. Each scenario has three matched emoji and emotion word choices.
