Teaching style

I believe in the power of child-led therapy and the importance of fostering communication in the natural environment. By following the child’s interests, we can create meaningful, engaging sessions that foster a sense of autonomy and motivation. This approach helps children feel more in control of their learning, making therapy a collaborative and enjoyable experience. Incorporating real-world environments ensures that the skills learned are functional and applicable to daily life, leading to better generalization and success outside of structured therapy settings. This combination supports each child's unique developmental journey in a way that feels natural and authentic to them.

My own education history

I received a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science, a Disabilities Studies Certificate, and a Spanish minor from the University of Iowa. I then attended Elmhurst University to receive my masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
