I read Two Degrees aloud to my 5th graders the year it came out. They LOVED other Alan Gratz books that we had read, and this book was no exception! This bundle includes the novel study I used along with the assessments I gave to students along the way. -- NOVEL STUDY These are set up as two sheets per page. Fun science lab for April (or anytime of year)! Give students a handful of jellybeans. Then, students record the jellybean's color, draw a picture, identify smell and taste, and then guess the flavor. At the bottom of the worksheet, they will answer these two questions: How did your observations help you determine what flavor the jellybean was?What was a challenge in identifying the flavor? Why?

Encourage students to try different genres of books by hosting a book tasting! Students can record their thoughts about each book and compare them using this restaurant-inspired menu page.
