This is a set of worksheets from my special education classroom that uses a functional curriculum to teach academics and life skills. My middle school students have mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and are being taught using a functional curriculum. We wanted to learn about Georgia since that is an 8th grade standard. However, the materials I could find were over our ability levels. I created an adapted cut and paste activity to help my students learn three of the major rivers in Georgia. One is a simple cut and paste and the other is the same sheet with color coded visual prompting.

This activity was created to teach a Functional Curriculum class about the idea of Author's Purpose. We only focused on Entertain and Inform for this activity. The students look at the picture of a text or type of book and then cut and paste it under the appropriate purpose. Picture prompts were provided to help the students know what the purpose meant.

I made this for my K-2 MOID class after we learned about light and sound. As always lots of picture clues and my students either point to the answer or circle the answer.

This activity uses conversation hearts to teach the concept of ratios to students on an adapted Functional Curriculum. The students first sort and count their hearts by color. Then they use the count sheet to create ratios for four color combinations.

I created this product to help my SPED class (K-2) with the concept of addition. They cut out some red apples and some green apples. Then we glue their apples into the box and they write the addition sentence that goes with it.
