About the store
I have been teaching for 18 years in Georgia. I have taught elementary regular education for most of my career, but I did teach a middle school self-contained special education class for three years and I loved it! I'm back in elementary school now working with students in 1st and 2nd grade who have Autism or other developmental delays.

Wonders High-Frequency Word Slide Show & Checklist for Kindergarten

In trying to find a way to assess my special education students virtually, I came up with this PowerPoint that I share via Zoom and then I use the checklist to keep track of the words they know.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching for 18 years in Georgia. I have taught elementary regular education for most of my career, but I did teach a middle school self-contained special education class for three years and I loved it! I'm back in elementary school now working with students in 1st and 2nd grade who have Autism or other developmental delays.

Teaching style

As a special education teacher I am used to differentiating my lessons all the time! I love to give students hands on, meaningful activities rather than busy work.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. I am currently thinking about going back for my Specialist or Doctorate in Special Education.

Additional biographical information

Aside from being a teacher, I have two children (both of whom have Autism), two cats, and one dog we rescued from a shelter (Best decision ever, Adopt...Don't Shop!)! I also have Aspergers Syndrome and Anxiety. I find it's actually helpful in getting to know my students and helping them find ways to make education work for them.
