Use a tissue box to have students explore the area of a rectangular prism. Students can also create a net with this activity.
There is an enrichment piece to this activity that you can use for a 3D printer.

I have found that if students do not understand math vocabulary, they can not answer math questions correctly. I have chosen vocabulary words that are found in chapter tests or on state tests that students need to know in order to answer questions.
I took the vocabulary, printed them and taped them to larger index cards. I made enough index cards for each child so they could use them on chapter test days. This gives students extra exposure to the vocabulary that they are going to be expected
