This lecture describes the conferences that follow World War II and set in stone the beginning of Cold War tensions. These slides are meant to be paired with the following Yalta Simulation that can be found at multiple places online. In particular, my AP Euro classroom used the one made by the Organization of American Historians. This lecture comes with audio recordings in case this needs to be taught asynchronously.
This lecture goes into the Homefront of the major countries during WWII. This lecture can be paired with the following video that goes deeper into the Homefront and the Holocaust as well. A documentary worksheet is within the PowerPoint that can be used with the video as well. The last side also has room for DBQ or LEQ practice.
Environmental Consequences of WWI. This lecture dives into how Lebanon went through one of the largest famines in modern history due to events in the Ottoman Empire during WWI. There is one youtube video attached. The assignment would need the 3rd source on the Works Cited page- The assignment in the lecture would require high-level reading skills as it is college-level reading. Because of this, you could change the assignment to meet your needs.
The creation of the combustion engine along with an increasing supply of oil allowed new technologies to be introduced for the first time on a global scale during the 20th century. New technologies such as tanks, airplanes, military transportation, and Navy vessels came to be more popular due to this rise in oil consumption. This lesson comes with a lecture with detailed notes, a primary source, and a worksheet to be filled out with the PS.
